This course incorporates studies in analogue and digital recording techniques (ProTools), live sound mixing, high quality multi-track recording, production principles, electronic music history, sound design, electronic sound creation and interactive systems culminating in a senior project. You will collaborate with performers, composers, filmmakers and game designers to produce high quality recordings and sound tracks.

Core subjects include studies in music technology; music business; jazz harmony, traditional theory, music history, keyboard studies, aural training, aesthetics and world music. Choose from a wide range of performance, composition and audio production electives and take advantage of opportunities to perform in bands, ensembles and choral ensembles.

The Bachelor of Applied Music (Performance) degree empowers you to apply transferable skills across a broad range of genres such as Rock, Pop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, and World music. You will explore both the practical and theoretical side of music. You will receive three years of individual instrumental lessons, and also undertake Music Production and Music Business training.

Choose from a wide range of composition, audio production, teaching, and performance electives; or take advantage of opportunities to perform in other ensembles and choirs. You will have access to state-of-the-art computer labs, recording studio facilities, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with other composition, audio and business students.
